Professional audit
WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility audit
We review your site with our Axessibly SaaS platform and in-depth manual checks: keyboard, screen reader, contrast, forms, and mobile. We work to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the EAA, Legge Stanca, and EN 301 549.
Why one online tool isn't enough
Automated tests catch roughly 30–40% of WCAG non-conformities. They're the ideal starting point, but they don't replace keyboard-only navigation, screen reader use, or different contrast settings.
Our audit is transparent and repeatable: we start with an Axessibly scan, confirm every finding manually, and document what we checked, what failed, and how to fix it.
What we review
We define scope with you: we cover every page pattern users actually encounter, not random URLs.
- Home and representative inner pages
- Critical forms: contact, search, sign-up, checkout, account area
- Multimedia: video, audio, image galleries
- Data tables, search results, error pages (404, 500)
- Global components: header, footer, modals, menus, and navigation
How we work
From the tool to manual review, through to the report and fixes. Each phase has a clear goal.
1. Axessibly scan
We analyse the agreed pages with our platform: 200+ WCAG and EAA checks, issues highlighted in HTML with priorities and actionable hints. It's the initial map, always confirmed manually.
2. Manual review
We check structure and content: heading hierarchy, landmarks, meaningful alt text, form labels, and understandable error messages. Every automated finding is confirmed or dismissed.
3. Keyboard navigation
Everything operable must be reachable with Tab and usable with Enter or Space. Focus stays visible, order is logical, and you never get trapped in modals or menus.
4. Screen reader testing
We verify with screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver) that links, buttons, and announcements make sense out of context. It's the check closest to many blind and low-vision users' experience.
5. Contrast and visual design
We measure contrast ratios, readability, and interactive component rendering, including with zoom and different settings. Nothing should break unpredictably.
6. Mobile and touch
On small screens we check tap targets, on-screen keyboards, and responsive layout. Accessibility isn't desktop-only.
7. PDFs and documents
If the site distributes PDFs or other downloads, we include them in scope: structure, headings, and text that isn't image-only. Accessibility doesn't stop at the HTML page.
Report, fixes, and statement
You receive an operational report with issues, priorities, and code references. On request we implement fixes and run verification again afterwards. We also support your published accessibility statement.
